How To Make Cute Paper Plate Bunny Rabbits
Like I said, this paper plate rabbit craft is super simple and each cute bunny uses just one thin paper plate.
There is a bit of drawing shapes and cutting out which older kids should manage fine on their own. If you are making this rabbit craft with younger kids you might want to draw the shapes for them to cut and for very young children you could easily cut and prep the shapes ahead of time if need be.
Start your paper plate rabbit craft by covering a paper plate in your favourite colour. We’ve shown you a pink and blue rabbit but your kids might want to stick to real rabbit colours like browns or blacks, or maybe they’ll go rabbit wild with multi colours!
I tend to use acrylic paint with kids because it has such great coverage but water colours are fine too, but you might want two layers.
To make your rabbit’s body cut your paper plate in half and roll it into a cone. Use the stapler to hold it in place.
The rest of your rabbit craft is going to be made from the other half of the paper plate. Start by cutting two pie slices and shaping them into rabbit ears.
Fold the top of your cone over and glue it into place. Colour your paper plate rabbit’s ears with Sharpie Pens and glue them into place on the back of the folded over cone.
Cut two more pie sections from your paper plate and snip into it lots of times to make your bunny rabbit’s cute whiskers. We also rounded off the pointed end and drew on a few dots too.
Start to bring your rabbit craft to life by glueing on its googly eyes, pom pom nose and cute whiskers. You can even draw a little smile too if you like.
No rabbit craft would be complete without a cute round tail. We used large white pom poms but ordinary cotton balls would work well too.
So your bunny rabbit can bounce about it’s going to need some large feet for jumping! We cut two thin rectangles from the remaining paper plate pieces and snipped some toes. The ridges around the edge of the paper plate are perfect!
Ta dah! Now your little rabbits are ready to hop and skip their way through Spring!
Why not try using them in your Easter Egg Hunts too? They’d be great for sitting on top and hiding a surprise stash of mini eggs! Cheeky Easter Bunny!
