Wahoo. I’m getting very excited about Valentine’s Day. I know some people keep it just for partners and spouses but I like to make it a day to celebrate the whole family and the love between us, so I’ve started planning my surprises now, in preparation for the big day.
This year I’ve decided to host a Family Valentine Movie Night and I’ve decided to love myself a little this year too and buy in, rather than home-make, our treats. That way I get to relax and enjoy the whole evening with the family rather than dashing about.
To start off I’ll be ordering a take-away pizza, this is something I hardly ever do so the kiddies will be over the moon. To give it a Valentine theme I’m going to chop up some heart-shaped healthy veggies to go with it on the side, from carrot, cucumber and pepper, and for the meat eaters I’ll be cutting out some heart-shaped ham and pepperoni to sprinkle on their pizza. I love that I can prep all of that the night before and hide it in the fridge easily.
…And what’s for pudding? Shhhh, don’t tell the children…I’ve ordered some amazing sweet treat desserts from Thorntons and they arrived today. Yikes….Just look at this lovely lot!
I chose the Thorntons Classics Chocolate Gift Bundle, which you can see above. I think it’s fantastic value retailing at £25 as it would cost more than £50 if you bought them all separately. This is such a great bundle for my family with something for everybody from the youngest , who will love the turkish delight and strawberry creams through to Grandma and Grandad who will like the chocolate mints.
I was a bit naughty because browsing through their hamper selection I also spotted their Nuts and Chocolate Hamper and just couldn’t resist. Nuts and chocolate are my all time favourite combination and if you have never tried their Lightly Salted Pistachio Chocolate then do, you won’t regret it! It’s my all time favourite chocolate ever and believe me I’ve tried a lot of different chocolates in my time!
It’s definitely worth having a browse through Thorntons chocolate range if you’re looking for a gift for a family or group of people, or like me you’re looking for a treat for yourself and your own family. They’ve got a great range to suit every taste and a selection of prices for all budgets and they often have special offers on too.
I am so excited about showing the family the pizza and chocolates and can’t wait to see the children’s faces. Their eyes are going to pop out of their heads and it will be like Christmas all over again! I’m expecting them to look something like this…!
All I need to do now is chose a family Valentine film, I’m thinking maybe Ariel for the kiddies and Bridesmaids for the grownups. Let me know if you have any suggestions. And lastly I have to hide away all those chocolates and make sure I don’t scoff them before Valentine’s day.
…Hmmmm, maybe I should just test one or two to make sure they’re OK before I hide them in the cupboard. 😉
What are you planning for Valentine’s Day?
