We love Autumn crafts for kids and being inspired by the colours and natural things around us. We’re lucky enough to have a little oak tree in our garden so we just had to make some acorn crafts of course! These adorable Acorn Mice are super simple to make and just darling!
We loved our first acorn mouse craft so much that we just had to make a whole Acorn Mouse Family! The little mice from this acorn craft project are perfect pocket pals for children and just right for giving as little Fall gifts.

Supplies For Your Acorn Craft Project – Mouse Family:
- Acorns
- Low Temp Glue Gun
- Acrylic Paint
- Yarn
- Fine brush
How to Make Your Acorn Craft Project – Cute Mouse Family
(Remember acorns are small and pose a choking hazard!)
1 – Choose an acorn and two cups for each mouse craft. Use a low temp glue gun to secure the acorn cups into place to make each mouse’s ears. I love using glue guns for acorn craft projects like this because they set in seconds. (Glue guns can be hot please assist and supervise your children as necessary for their age.)
2 – Cut a length yarn and glue gun that into place too to make the tail. You could give each mouse a different colour perhaps?
3 – Now comes the fun bit. Your mice are ready to come alive with features! We really enjoyed choosing colours and designs to bring out their different personalities.
Because the acorn mouse craft is so small you’ll need a fine paint brush. We used these Reeve Acrylic Paints. They’re my favourite set of paints for lots of nature crafts as they have a really good coverage, a great range of colours, and they’re mixable and fast drying too!
For the baby mouse we chose a small acorn for its body and used some little acorns that hadn’t developed properly for his ears. We found loads of them under the Oak tree!
