How to Blow Paint a Colourful Lion
– Download and print the free lion craft template. (Get yours at the bottom of this tutorial.)
– We used acrylic paint, so to make it runny enough to blow we put a little squirt into an egg cup and then stirred in a little water.
– Add some drops of watered down paint colours onto the round circle.
– Have fun blowing the paint, through a straw, in any direct you like. It’s great to see the colours merge and change. (Make sure children know to blow not suck!)
– We enjoyed the blow painting method so much that we even coloured the face in by blow painting, even though it was only yellow!
– We really wanted the blow painted lions face and mane to stand out so we decided not to paint the body and tail but to cut it out of yellow cardstock instead.
– Once your blow painting is dry, glue the face onto the middle of the lion’s mane.
– Then glue the head onto the lion’s body and then add the tail too. we snipped into the tail to give it a hairy texture.
– We finished off our Blow Paint Lion Craft by drawing on some feet and hair strands on the tail.
