Most of us head to the beach in the Summer if we can and if it’s too far then there’s always the option of sand and water play at home and lots of themed beach crafts! Today we’re sharing with you one of our most favourite Summer crafts yet, Cute And Fun Crab Hats!
These homemade crab headbands are simply adorable and easy to make with the printable crab craft template. Such a cute and crab craft for kids!

It’s easy to personalise your crab headband with the position of the eyes, pincers and legs and of course by drawing on your own style of cheeky smile!

Supplies To Make Crab Hats
- Crab Hat Printable Template
- Coloured Card
- White Card
- Black Sharpie Pen
- Scissors
- Glue
- Stapler
How To Make Adorable Crab Headbands
1 – Download and print your crab craft template.
2 – There are two ways you can use the crab hats template.
- You can print the whole template onto white card and colour it in.
- Print sheet 1, the crab’s body pieces, onto coloured card and sheet 2, the crab’s eyes, onto white card.
3 – Cut out your template pieces and glue together the crabs eyes. Children can have fun making the eyes point in different directions for each crab.
4 – Glue the eyes onto the back of the large rectangle front headband piece and attach the crab’s pincers. These too can be glued in different positions so that each crab hat is different.
5 – Finish off your crab’s face by drawing on a smile with your black Sharpie pen.
6 – To make the round crab headband staple the second large rectangle piece onto the first at either side. You can measure around the child’s head to get a good fit.
7 – Cut out the crab’s 8 additional legs and fold them into small zig zags.
8 – Glue the legs onto the inside of the crab headband at the sides.
