How To Make Candy-Stuffed Turkey Favors
1 – Choose a selection of everyone’s favourite Autumn chocolates and candy to go inside your turkey favors. you can even add some stickers or small toys for the kids too.
2 – For each candy-filled turkey favor cut a piece of brown tissue paper into a large 30cm x 30cm (12”) square to make the turkey’s body. To make the turkey’s tail feathers cut 6 strips of tissue paper of each of the other colours into 3cm x 45cm (1 ½” x 18”) and fold each of these in half. For each turkey’s beak cut a small orange card triangle.
3 – Lay out a large brown paper square and arrange the different colours of tail paper strips on the centre of the top half of the brown square, letting them overhang the edge. Position your Thanksgiving treats into the middle of the brown square, partially covering the bottom of the tail strips.
4 – Gently take the corners and edges of the brown tissue paper and gather them together around the pile of treats. Make sure the base of the coloured tail feather strips stay tucked inside the brown paper, but the tops need to stick out. Use a brown pipe cleaner to twist around to hold it closed. Trim off any excess.
5 – Finish off your candy-filled turkey favors by glueing on some googly eyes and orange beaks. You can add a red snood or wattle too if you like.
Don’t these little candy-filled turkey favors look great? Give them as gifts for friends, party favors or use them to decorate your Thanksgiving table. We think the kids will love them and are pretty sure the grown ups won’t be able to resist either! Gobble Gobble!
