We’re delighted to have partnered with Bostik again, to share with you this fun and interactive Father’s Day Flying Super Dad Craft! These cute superheroes are really easy to make with the free printable template. They have a personalised message on the back and when you pull the string at the bottom you can make them fly up and down!
These Super Dads are a really cool Father’s Day gift idea that both daddies and kids of all ages will love. They’re the perfect way to show Dad how super special he really is!
This superhero craft is great for Dads and also super special Grandads, Uncles or friends too. The printable template includes the choice of two tummy badges and two cape messages. One tummy badge says “Super Dad” and the second is blank to personalise yourself. One cape message says “My Dad is super because…” and the other says “You are super because…”.
This Super Dad Craft is easy to make fly with the addition of some yarn and a couple of pieces of paper drinking straw. Scroll down to see the full instructions and watch our video to see them in action! They’re super fun!
If you’re making this Father’s Day Flying Super Dad Craft with younger children you can also glue Super Dad to a popsicle stick handle instead. Kids and Dad can simply hold him and have fun zooming him around with their hand to make him fly.

Their Tape Discs are so easy to peel off and use and mean that children and adults don’t have to struggle cutting fiddly strips of sticky tape. We all know how tricky that is to do, right?

Father’s Day Flying Super Dad Craft Tutorial
Superhero Craft Supplies:
- Free Printable Superhero Craft Template (Get yours at the bottom of this post.)
- Cardstock
- Colouring Pens/Pencils
- Paper Straw
- Yarn
- Bostik Blu Stick
- Bostik Tape Discs
How To Make Superhero Father’s Day Gifts
1 – Download and print your Father’s Day superhero template. Print the page with the face onto white cardstock. The other two pages can be printed onto coloured card of your choice.
2 – Decorate the face to look like dad and colour in the badge for his tummy. (You can use the “Super Dad” badge or personalise the blank one.)
3 – Cut out all the template pieces and use your Blu Stick to attach the pants and badge onto the front of the body.
4 – Concertina fold the arms and legs and glue them onto the back of the body.
5 – Cut two short lengths of paper drinking straw and attach them to the back of the body with your Bostik Tape Discs. We love how easy the tape discs are to peel and stick and that they’re made of paper so they’re eco friendly and recyclable too.
6 – Cut about a metre length of yarn and thread the ends through the straws. Tie the ends together to make a continuous loop of yarn.
7 – Make sure one end of the yarn loop is sticking up at the neck and then glue the cape to the shoulders using the fold-over tabs. For smaller gluing areas like this, the Blu Stick really helps kids see that they’ve put the glue in the right place.
8 – Add a line of glue to the back of the chin and attach the head to the body.
9 – Fill in your special message label. You can use the one for Dad, or the “You are super because…” one for anyone else.
10 – To make your superhero craft fly up, hang it up and then pull the two dangling threads out to the side. When you bring your hands back together again, Super Dad will fly back down!
11 – Wrap up your superhero gift and make someone’s day! Bostik Tape Discs are a great way for kids to help with the wrapping and makes taping, scissor-free! You just peel them off the backing paper and stick them on. How easy is that?
