I love to decorate our Christmas tree with homemade ornaments of all shapes and sizes. This year we’re adding to our collection with these simple Homemade Baubles.
I adore the vibrant colours on black which comes from the ever wonderful Posca Pens! Regular readers will know how much I totally love these babies and I’m delighted to say that the fab team at Uni-ball have a set of Posca Pens to giveaway to a lucky reader too.
Why I LOVE Posca Pens
Posca Pens have had a regular place in my art supplies for years now. I love to use them for both grown up and kids crafts because they are so versatile and behave unlike anything else I’ve tried! I chose this homemade baubles craft because it really shows off all there is to love about Posca Pens.
Can you imagine any other pen covering deep black like the Posca Pens have on these homemade baubles? Can you imagine being able to layer a white pen on top of other colours? Can you imagine being able to layer colour upon colour without having to wait ages for each layer to dry? Posca Pens do all of that and more!
Here’s some reasons why I wouldn’t be without a set of Posca Pens:
- Easy to use.
- No messy paint brushes to wash.
- It’s much easier to draw on fine detail with a pen than with a paint brush.
- A great range of vibrant colours.
- Different nib sizes.
- Long lasting.
- You can use them on pretty much anything, even glass!
- Layering, layering, layering!
Have I convinced you that you need a set of Posca Pens in your art and craft supplies yet? You and the kids are sure to love them and there are so many Posca Pen crafts to try! Here are some of our favourites:

How To Make Homemade Baubles – Posca Pen Craft
First of all on thick black card, I drew round some cups and glasses to make the basic shape for my homemade baubles. I cut the ornament shapes out adding a little tab at the top to hang them from. For my pear shaped baubles I drew a circle first and then simply extended it at the bottom.
Next I used my gorgeous Posca Pens to add some pretty decorations to my homemade baubles. It’s really easy to use Posca Pens to create fine detail and to layer on colours. Look how well the white and blue goes straight over the black! They’re like paint but better. Brilliant!
I chose some designs that really showed you how easy it is to detail and layer with Posca Pens. Of course you can use any colour combinations or patterns you like.

To hang my homemade baubles I used a needle to lace through some embroidery thread and tied it off into loops. This makes it really easy to hang the homemade bauble ornaments onto your Christmas tree and you can adjust the length of the thread as you need.
