How To Make A Creepy And Fun Moving Eyes Paper Plate Mummy Craft
1 – Use your all over the page punch to cut two round eye holes out of the top of the black paper plate. If you don’t have a punch then grown ups could carefully use scissors instead.
2 – Tear strips of white paper and glue them on to your coloured paper plate to make the mummy’s bandages. Tear off the ends a little so you have no flat edges.
3 – Keep gluing on the bandages until your paper plate mummy is covered with just a few bits of the plate underneath showing through.
4 – Use your all over the page punch to cut two round eyes from your coloured paper. We used green paper for our black mummy craft and orange paper for our green mummy. Colour the eyes with black pupils.
5 – Making sure your eyes match up with the holes in your paper plate glue the paper eyes onto a strip of black cardstock. We cut a length of A4.
Position your eyes slightly to one side so that there is enough black cardstock to stick out one side of the paper plate. You will use this sticky out section as a lever to move your eyes.
6 – Line your eyes up and carefully flip your paper plate mummy over keeping the eye strip in position. Cut two thin strips of black cardstock and glue either end above and below the eye strip to make two belt hoops for it to slide in.
7 – Fold the short end of your mummy’s eye strip over to stop it from being pulled right out of its belt hoops.
8 – Now you can make your paper plate mummy craft’s eyes move from side to side by pulling and pushing the long tab. See the photograph above and below to see how they can be moved.
We think this is one of the most fun paper plate mummy crafts ideas there is! We hope your kids enjoy it as much as we have!
