Twit Twoo, this Owl Hat Craft is a real hoot! We just adore their great big eyes, and when you wear them you can give their wings a tap with your fingers to make them flap. It’s such a fun owl craft to make and wear!
If you’re looking for an easy autumn craft for kids then these owl crowns are perfect. They are super simple to make with the printable template which comes in three colours; brown, pink and grey.
They’re all lovely and we think the grey one is perfect for winter to make a snowy owl hat too. You can scroll down to the bottom to see how we added wintery sparkles to ours.
The owl hat template also includes a black and white version that children can enjoy decorating themselves or they can trace around it onto coloured cardstock if you prefer. The template comes in both US and UK spellings and paper sizes.

2 – Cut out all your owl hat template pieces.
3 – Glue the outer eyes onto the front headband.
4 – Glue the inner eyes onto the outer eyes.
5 – Glue on the beak.
6 – Fold the flat ends of the wings over to make tabs.
7 – Apply glue to the wing tabs and attach one wing to each end of the front headband.
8 – Staple the back headband piece onto the front headband piece to make a wearable loop. (Measure it around your head to get a good fit.)
9 – If you are making a snowy owl crown why not decorate the grey owl hat with snowflake confetti or fluffy cotton wool?
