Pull the penguin puppet down to make it hide in its egg and push it up to make it hatch and pop up to say hello! So much fun!

Supplies To Make Penguin Chick Puppets:
- 2 Paper Plates (For each penguin craft)
- Black and White Paint
- Orange Paper
- Wiggle Eyes
- 2 Jumbo Craft Sticks
How To Make Paper Plate Penguin Puppets
1 – Cut off just over 2/3rds of the outer corrugated rim of the paper plate to leave an arch shape.
2 – Cut the remaining corrugated section off the arch shape.
3 – The arch shape will become the head of your penguin chick. Leaving a white heart shape in the middle paint the rest black. To give a fluffy grey look of penguin chick feathers dab on white paint.
5 – The penguin chick puppet needs a long handle so glue together two jumbo popsicle sticks and then glue them to the back of the chick.
6 – Take your second paper plate and cut across it, about 1/3 down, in zig zags to make a broken egg shape.
7 – Take the corrugated arch you cut off your first plate and staple it onto the back of the paper plate egg on either side. Trim off any excess. This makes a little pocket for your penguin puppet to sit in.
8 – Slide the handle of the penguin puppet into the pocket.
9 – Now you can pull your penguin puppet handle down to hide the penguin chick inside the egg.
10 – Now you can push your penguin puppet upwards and it will poke out of the egg as if it was hatching!
This is such a cute and easy paper plate craft. I hope your kids enjoy playing with their homemade penguin puppets!
