This PAPER PLATE PIZZA CRAFT is so much fun and a great way to encourage imaginative play too. The pizza has lots of stringy cheese made from yarn which makes it look so realistic!
With this fun paper plate craft, kids will love pretending they’re slicing real pizza! That stringy yarn cheese looks good enough to eat! Why not make a few paper plate pizzas with lots of different toppings and create your own play pizzeria?
As well as being lots of fun to make and play with, this pizza craft is also great for teaching kids about following instructions and working on their fine motor skills.
Why not make some fraction pizzas? We just cut one slice and gave it stringy cheese but you can cut as many slices as you like. If you want the kids to work on simple fractions you could make a few pizzas and cut them into halves, quarters and eighths etc. Fraction pizzas are a super fun way to learn!

How to Make a Stringy Cheese Paper Plate Pizza Craft
Pizza Craft Supplies:
- Paper Plates
- Brown Paper (or paint)
- Craft Foam
- Coloured Paper
- Yellow Yarn
- Scissors
- Glue
Stringy Cheese Pizza Craft
1 – To make your pizza base, cover a paper plate with brown paper (or paint). Then cut a scalloped edge.
2 – Cut out a round shape from yellow craft foam and glue it into the middle to make the cheese topping.
3 – Now it’s time to make some pizza toppings. We created salami slices by cutting small red circles from paper. Next we glued on some little yellow paper oddments.
4 – Cut some sliced pepper shapes from green craft foam.
5 – Next glue the pepper and salami onto the top of the pizza.
6 – Make some sliced olives by cutting black circles and gluing a smaller white circle into the middle. Add the olives to your pizza.
7 – Cut a slice of pizza.
8 – To make the stringy cheese, cut lots of lengths of yellow yarn (an inch or two), and glue them along the edge of the pizza slice.
9 – You can cut as many slices as you like to add stringy cheese to. Now when you pick the pizza slice up the melted cheese will ooze along the sides, just like the real thing!
