How to Make a Spooky Paper Plate Witch Hat
To make a witch hat, you will need:
- Paper Plates
- Black Acrylic Paint
- Black Construction Paper
- Yellow Paper
- Purple and Yellow Pipe Cleaners
- Paint Brush
- Scissors
- Glue
Halloween Witch Hats Step by Step
1 – To make the brim for your witch hat, cut a paper plate in half and paint it with black acrylic paint. (We use acrylics because they give great coverage and you only need one coat.)
2 – To make the top of the witch hat, cut out a large triangle from black paper or cardstock. You can have it very pointed or round it off, or even make it long and fold the top over.
3 – Glue the top of the hat onto the brim.
4 – Now it’s time to have fun decorating your witch hat any way you like. We created a band from purple pipe cleaner pieces arranged in a rectangle.
5 – Then we made a buckle from yellow pipe cleaners pieces.
6 – Finally we decorated the top of the witch hat with lots of bright yellow paper dots!
