Paper Roll Bears – A Fun Recycled Winter Craft
This is one of our favorite winter crafts, these bears are so cute! You can see lots of other polar bear themed crafts here too.
Because each little polar bear is made from an old toilet paper roll, it’s a great way to introduce kids to recycling.
It’s wonderful to give a new lease of life to something that was trash and it’s even better when we can turn it into a cute paper roll polar bear craft for kids to make.
This toilet paper roll project is not only a fantastic addition to our winter crafts, but it’s also a gorgeous cuddly friend to play with too!
Fashion Design and Fine Motor Skills!
It’s super fun to transform toilet paper rolls into the most adorable little polar bears you’ve ever seen!
And these bears are super special because they’re wearing your very own clothing line! Kids of all ages can have so much fun designing gorgeous wooly jumpers for their polar bears.

How To Make A Cardboard Tube Polar Bear Craft
1 – Cut a rectangle of white construction paper large enough to wrap around the cardboard tube.
2 – Draw a pencil line across it one third of the way down. The top two thirds will be the polar bear’s head and the bottom third will be the polar bear’s body.
3 – Now, in the bottom section, you can have fun designing clothes for your polar bear. You can draw on crazy patterns in all of the colors of the rainbow, or maybe glue on some little buttons or draw on a cute bow tie. Male polar bears might even like a neck tie and female polar bears might like a necklace. It’s completely up to you!
4 – When your design is finished, wrap the paper around the cardboard tube, cut into the excess at the top and tuck it inside the tube. Glue or sticky tape it into place.
5 – To make the polar bears ears cut two small white card circles. Then cut two more smaller circles in silver or pink glitter paper to make the inner ears and glue them together. Then attach the ears to the top of the polar bear’s head.
6 – Next you can make the polar bear’s face. Glue on some googly eyes, and a round glitter paper muzzle and a black pom pom nose. Then use a black marker to draw on a smile.
7 – To finish off your paper roll polar bear craft and keep him cosy over winter, cut a strip of felt long enough to go round him to make a scarf. Then cut a shorter length and snip into the ends to make tassels.
8 – Tuck the short piece of scraf inside the long piece and glue the long piece around the bear.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this fun project as much as we have. It’s the perfect activity for young children to enjoy on a cold winter’s day! We’ve got a whole collection of winter paper plate crafts that you might like too.
