How adorable is this PENGUIN HAT CRAFT? We have a total soft spot for penguins, there’s something about them that’s so characterful and irresistible! Who wouldn’t want to wear a gorgeous PENGUIN HEADBAND like this?
These paper penguin hats are really easy to make with the PRINTABLE PENGUIN TEMPLATE. There is a black and white template you can either colour in or trace around and a full colour template too.
This is such a cute Winter craft for kids and great to go alongside a polar region study unit or for World Penguin Day, which is celebrated on 25th April each year.

Supplies To Make Penguin Headbands
- Printable Penguin Hat Template
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Marker Pen
- Glue
- Stapler
How To Make A Penguin Hat Craft
1 – Download and print the PENGUIN HAT CRAFT TEMPLATE. There is a B/W and full colour option.
2 – Trace around the pieces onto coloured cardstock. The Body, headband and wings are on black card. The Tummy and eyes are white and the the beak and feet are orange. (If you are colouring your template in or using the ready coloured version skip to step 3)
3 – Cut out all the penguin craft pieces.
4 – Glue the white tummy, white eyes and orange beak onto the penguin’s body.
5 – Colour the middle of the eyes black with a Sharpie.
6 – Glue the feet onto the back of the penguin’s body so they poke out at the bottom. Position them wide to each side so they don’t block your eyes when you are wearing the penguin hat.
7 – Staple the black headband rectangular section onto the sides of the penguin’s body to make a headband loop.
8 – Glue the penguin’s wings on. It’s fun to try these in different positions.
9 – Use a pen or pencil to curl the end of the wings around a little to give a more three dimension look.
Now your penguin hat craft is ready to be worn and enjoyed! So fun! Waddle, waddle!
