How To Make A Cute Pineapple Puppet
– To create the diamond pattern on your pineapple, flatten the yellow paper bag and turn it upside down so the opening is on the bottom. Draw diagonal strips across it with a black Sharpie and ruler. We kept ours the width of the ruler apart so there was no fiddly measuring to keep them even.
– Then do exactly the same with lines going across the other way.
– To give a pineapple type shape, cut off the bottom two corners of the bag.
– To make your handprint pineapple top, cut out 4 handprints from green cardstock. To reduce the cutting, we folded a piece of cardstock in half and then half again to give 4 layers.
– Arrange your handprints to make the pineapple top shape and glue them together.
– Open up the base of the paper bag (now at the top), insert the handprints and glue it shut.
– Your pineapple puppet needs a cute face so punch two white circles for eyes and draw on pupils with a black Sharpie. Glue them on.
– Cut out two pink paper circles with your hole punch to make the pineapple’s cheeks. Glue them on and finish off your puppet by drawing on a happy smile.
Now you can pop your hand inside and and bring your paper bag pineapple puppet to life. I wonder what sort of personality he’ll have? Ours is really cheeky and funny!
