Rocking Paper Plate Sheep Craft Tutorial
Baa baa black sheep, white sheep, brown sheep, fluffy sheep! This paper plate sheep craft is super fun and kids can enjoy decorating their sheep in any colours or textures they like!
A little push on its head sends your cute sheep rocking back and forth. Totally adorable!
Supplies To Make Rocking Sheep
- Uncoated Paper Plates US / UK
- Black Paint US / UK
- White Posca Paint Pen US / UK
- Googly Eyes
- Scissors
- Printable Paper Plate Sheep Craft Template (Available free, see bottom of post.)
How To Make Adorable Rocking Sheep
You can watch our video or see the written instructions below. Have fun!
1- Print and draw around a sheep craft template using the link at the bottom of this post or use the photo above as a guide to draw your own. (Depending on the size of your paper plates you may need to scale it up or down a smidge by cutting in or out of the line guide.)
2- Cut out your flat sheep craft shape.
3- Paint your paper plate sheep any colours you like. We used black acrylic paint for the head and added four black squares for sheep feet too.
4- Draw, paint or glue on your sheep’s facial features. We used plastic googly eyes because they are so fun and then drew on the ears, nose and mouth with a white Posca Paint Pen. Posca’s are another of my must have craft items because they are fantastic for adding detail and cover so well!
5- Fold your sheep to make it 3D. I’ve drawn some dotted lines on the flat sheep to show you where to fold it to make it stand up and rock. Don’t draw the lines on your sheep because they’ll look ugly but use these lines in the photo as a guide instead.
6- Optional – If you want a fluffy sheep you could simply glue on some cotton balls too!
Making a 3D rocking paper plate sheep is so easy! Don’t you just LOVE how it wibble wobbles backwards and forwards? So cute!
