Shark Hat Craft

Make super fun Shark Hats! Kids will love their toothy smiles and big fins!  This is such a fun shark hat craft for preschool and elementary grades to enjoy this Summer.

This shark paper crown goes really well with ocean study units, favourite shark storybooks and of course it’s the perfect shark craft for Shark Week!

The shark hat printable template comes in 3 fun colours; light blue, dark blue and grey. There is also a B/W shark craft template which children can either colour in or trace around onto coloured cardstock.

How To Make A Paper Shark Hat 

Shark Hat Craft Supplies:

  • Printable Shark Craft Template
  • Cardstock
  • Marker Pen
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Stapler

Make A Shark Fin Hat

Shark Hat Craft step 1

1 – Either trace around the B/W template onto coloured cardstock, colour it in or use a ready coloured template.

2 – Carefully cut out the pieces.

3 – Glue the large upright dorsal fin onto the back of the front headband piece.

4 – Fold the flat ends of the side/pectoral fins over and glue them on to each side of the front headband piece.

5 – Glue the teeth onto the back of the front headband piece so they poke out the bottom in a smile.

6 – Glue on the eyes and draw on some nostrils and gills with marker pen.

7 – Staple the back headband piece onto the front headband piece to make a wearable loop. (Measure it around your head to get a good fit.)
