How To Make A Calm Down Turkey Sensory Bottle For Thanksgiving
– Thanksgiving Turkey Sensory Bottles are really quick and easy to make. Start by almost filling your bottle with water or a mix of water and glycerin. (Leave a little room for adding sparkles.) We’ve made and enjoyed lots of sensory bottles without glycerin but if you have some to hand it helps slow the fall of the glitter so children can really see it twist and twirl around.
– Add some glitter, sequins and anything else of interest that you fancy. We wanted our Thanksgiving Turkey Sensory Bottles to have Autumn colours so we chose red, green and gold glitters and red and brown sequins.
– Pop the lid on and give your sensory bottle a good shake to mix all the contents. If you want to you can glue or tape the lid shut too.
– To make it a turkey sensory bottle you can decorate it with craft foam. We chose foam sheets rather than cardstock because it’s a bit more robust and lasts longer with all the shaking and touching by little hands. Make your turkey’s face by cutting a brown foam circle. Make it an appropriate size to match your bottle.
– Cut a yellow triangle beak and a red snood/wattle and glue them on with your eye stickers.
– To make the turkey’s feathers cut long shapes from lots of different coloured craft foam. We made 6 feathers for our turkey discovery bottle in pink, red, yellow, orange, green and blue.
– (Grown-ups only) Use your glue gun to stick the turkey feathers together in a fan shape.
– Glue the feathers onto the back of the sensory bottle.
– Finish your Thanksgiving Turkey Sensory Bottles by glueing the head onto the front of the bottle top.
Your Turkey Sensory Bottles are ready to be enjoyed. They are just right for thanksgiving and a wonderful way for kids to relax and calm down during the busy holiday period.
