This YARN WRAPPED FLOWER CRAFT is so pretty! It’s such a lovely Spring craft to brighten up the home or classroom or to make as a Mother’s Day gift or for Valentine’s Day or a birthday.
These lovely paper flowers can be enjoyed as they are or potted up into little paper filled plant pots. Either way I’m sure you’ll agree they are just adorable!
Because this flower craft is made using yarn wrapping, they give kids lots of opportunity to practice their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination beyond just cutting and sticking.
It’s also a lovely flower craft to use up all those oddments of yarn and random buttons that you’ve no doubt been hoarding just like me!
We’ve got lots of other Spring Crafts you’ll enjoy. Why not try some Sponge Flower Painting or a pretty Hyacinth or Lavender Flower Craft too?

How To Make Gorgeous Yarn Wrapped Flowers
1 – Start making your flowers by cutting out a circle from coloured cardstock. Ours were approximately 3 inches across.
2 – Cut a length of yarn and sticky tape it to the back of the cardstock circle.
3 – Wrap the yarn around and around the circle in lots of different directions. When you have finished sticky tape the end of the yarn onto the back of the circle.
4 – To make the flower stem cut a length of green yarn and sticky tape one end of it to the back of a jumbo craft stick. Wrap and wrap the yarn around the craft stick all the way up and down. When you have finished sticky tape the end of the yarn onto the back of the craft stick.
5 – Sticky tape the end of the yarn wrapped craft craft stick onto the back of the round flower head.
6 – Cut a leaf from green cardstock.
7 – Glue the leaf to the back of the craft stick stem and glue a button into the centre of the flower head.
8 – If you want to make a plant pot for your flower simply fill a blue paper cup with brown shredded paper and push the flower stem into the middle.
Why not make a whole bunch of paper flowers in lots of different colours?
If you’re making these as a Mother’s Day gift you could write a message on the leaf.
