You should have seen the children’s faces this week when a box arrived with a Disney Infinity Starter Pack from Argos for us to try. They couldn’t wait to get it unpacked and plugged in.
Disney Infinity is a whole new concept in gaming for us as it combines adorable collectible toy figures with an interactive game.
I always limit the children’s screen time so I really liked that they could continue to play with the character figures long after their allowed screen play time had finished. Here are the lovely figures that came in our pack.
As you’d expect from an Xbox game there are lots of games and adventures to set your characters on. Each character unlocks its own new world (play set). You can battle pirates as Jack Sparrow, protect the streets of Metroville as Mr Incredible or romp around Monster University campus as Sulley. And additional characters are available to buy separately. It’s a good range that would suit different children’s ages and interests, a great way for siblings and friends to enjoy the same game.
Here’s a quick shot of my 3 enjoying playing together.
It’s been a pleasure to do a Disney Infinity review and my favourite thing about Disney Infinity is that it encourages children’s imaginative play as well. There’s an option for children to create their own worlds in a section called Toy Box. This is a totally new concept in gaming for us and something the children enjoyed a lot and I’m sure will keep re-visiting. You can create your own landscape, construct buildings and race tracks and more. Such fun!
I think the children will enjoy playing this game for months to come and we can always expand it by buying additional characters too. There’s also the option to buy additional Power Discs to expand the adventure as well. Our Disney Infinity Starter Pack came with a Hexagonal Power Disc which unlocks new options in the Toy Box mode and it’s possible to buy additional Power Discs and use up to 3 at a time. Round Power Discs are also available separately to power up character abilities too.
So are you ready to win a fantastic Disney Infinity Starter Pack for Xbox or Wii? Well the fabulous people at Argos have one up for grabs for a very lucky reader.
