Well here I am at the start of 2014 and I’d like to wish you all a very Happy New Year, may it bring you much fun, love and laughter.
The start of a new year is always a time to look forward and make plans and also a time to reflect on the year that’s been. 2013 was a very exciting year in this house as it saw the completion of my first full year of blogging and it has proved to be such an exciting journey.
I’ve ‘met’ so many other wonderful and creative bloggers on the way and have been inspired by so many of the fantastic ideas they’ve shared on the internet. It’s been a blast meeting new people, like yourself, here on the blog. It feels like my world exploded with thousands of new friends so thank you.
Today I’ve come together with over 50 other amazing blogs from the Kid Blogger Network to look back at our year of blogging and choose our favourite post of the year to share with you in a blog hop.
Choosing my favourite post of the year has been tricky as each one reminds me of time spent with my children and therefore each one feels special.

I love all of those crafts and activities and am delighted that so many other people have enjoyed them too.
Personally my all time favourite post of 2013 has to be our Dragon Hobby Horse Craft.
I love that it’s mainly an up-cycled craft, starting life as a simple breakfast cereal box and I simply adore the enthusiasm the boys had for making him and all the fun and games we had with it.
Imaginative play is such a crucial part of child development and our dragon was a great way for the children to develop their imaginative story telling and improvisation.
He promoted lots of language and communication and gave us a safe way to explore a huge range of emotions and scenarios and the children don’t even realise they were doing all that learning, fab, fab, fab!
