I love the winter, I simply adore snow and all the fun it brings but ironically and rather unfairly I don’t handle the cold very well at all and suffer terribly with cold extremities, fingers, toes, nose etc. We have a running joke in my house…my children comment on my cold hands and I reply, “Cold hands, warm bum!” Goodness knows where it came from, I can’t for the life of me remember but it cracks them up every time. ( I think you have to be under 10 to find it funny!)

It seems I  have terrible circulation, the Dr has mentioned Raynaud’s Syndrome but I think it’s probably just a result of too many cakes sitting in my blood vessels slowing things down. As soon as I keep still I freeze. I am the hunch-backed mum in the playground, chin tucked to chest, shoulders up to ears, who shivers and bounces from one foot to the next in an effort to keep warm while waiting for the smalls to come out. I am a cocoon of vest, pyjamas, socks, jumpers and dressing gowns during the night in an effort to keep the cold at bay whilst I sleep. On the plus side I always feel an immense sense of liberation as the warmer weather kicks in and I can start shedding the layers and layers of clothing. Last week I went vest-less for the first time in months, bliss!

When I was asked if I’d like to try a pair of Ugg Boots I wasn’t sure at first as I’ve never been one to go for them really. I’ve always been put off by the price and the fact that every person I see seems to be wearing the same ones. I generally don’t shop much if I can avoid it so when I took a peep at the website for the first time I was in for a bit of a surprise. Gone were my preconceptions as I found that they offered a wide range of Ugg boot styles, a children’s and men’s range and they even do summer sandals too!

My boots arrived to great stompings and gruntings from the smalls as they danced caveman style around the house chanting Ugg, Ugg. (It’s another under 10 thing, although I did have a sneaky join in too!) My youngest was very taken with how fluffy they were inside right down to the toe. He couldn’t resist and striped off trousers, shoes and socks so he could feel it on his legs and feet. Needless to say I had to battle them off him for my turn.

Ugg Boots Review

Having finally tried them, I now get their appeal and may well have been won over. The boots feel absolutely luscious, really comfy and deliciously warm. I think I could even get away without wearing layers and layers of socks which would be lovely. I quite like the buttoned sides which make them a bit different to the plain ones I’d only ever noticed before now and I can fold these down to wear in a different way too, so it’s kind of like two boots for the price of one. The light sandy colour is really lovely and enables them to go with a great range of colours but I fear it may not be a very practical choice, I think I will invest in some heavy-duty spray protection to try to preserve it.

Ugg Boots Review

Overall would I invest in a pair in the future? Well much to my surprise I think I would. If they last a couple of winters then I think they’ll be worth every penny. I don’t think I’ll be wanting to give up that fluffy luxuriousness any time soon.

(I was sent this product for the purpose of this review, all opinions are my own and 100% honest.)
