Craft Supplies:
- Free Printable Nativity Candle Holder Templates (Get yours at the bottom of this post.)
- White Cardstock or Paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Coloring Materials: Pens, Pencil Crayons etc.
- Battery Votive Candles (DO NOT USE ANY REAL FLAMES!)
Step 1 – Print and Color
Begin by printing out the free Christmas Nativity Candle Holder templates. (Get yours at the bottom of this post.)
Kids can have fun decorating them any way they please to create their own unique candle holders. They can use pencils crayons, marker pens, paints, anything they fancy.
They might also enjoy adding a bit of glitter and bling with sequins, tinsel or bio-glitter too. Perhaps some gold accents to the white robes of the elegant angel, or some sparkling glitter to Mary and Joseph’s halos?
Step 2 – Cut and Assemble
Once the coloring is complete, carefully cut out each paper luminary.
Then fold it in half diagonally backwards along the dotted line so that the nativity character is on the front and glue it together.
Next, curl the two triangle points together to make a 3D figure that stands on its own. Glue the points together to leave a little circular space in the middle.
Step 3 – Add Twinkling Tea Light Candles
Now you can bring your nativity scene to life by adding a twinkling battery-powered flameless candle to the centre of each Nativity figure. They will look so pretty glowing on display and you can put them to decorative use all around your home!
