Scrap Yarn Christmas Tree Craft Tutorial
Supplies To Make Chopped Yarn Christmas Tree Art:
- Free Printable Christmas Tree Templates (Get yours by filling in the form towards the end of this post.)
- White Cardstock or Paper
- Green, Yellow and Brown Yarn
- Mini Pom Poms
- School Glue
- Scissors
How To Make Scrap Yarn Christmas Trees
1 – Download and print your free Christmas tree templates. (Get yours by clicking the pink link towards the end of this post.)
2 – Cut lots of little pieces of green yarn and glue them into the middle of the Christmas tree template.
Cutting yarn gives kids lots of opportunity to practice their scissor skills.
To speed up the yarn cutting, we wrap loops of yarn around our hand then slip them off and cut through multiple strands at once.
3 – Repeat cutting little pieces with yellow yarn for the star on top of the Christmas tree.
4 – Then do the same for the Christmas tree trunk with brown yarn.
5 – Now you can have fun decorating your scrap yarn Christmas tree crafts.
We glued on lots of brightly coloured mini pom poms but you could use buttons, more yarn scraps, tissue paper or anything else you fancy.
