Are you and your kids as crazy for unicorns as we are? They just shout magic, laughter and love don’t they? Today we’re sharing a simple paper plate unicorn craft that’s great for kids of all ages. We just love that these unicorns are so easy to make and they look really lovely!
With a paper plate base this simple unicorn craft is great for your preschoolers and toddlers if you are looking for something easy. There’s not much cutting out and the shapes that are cut are nice and chunky and not too fiddly for little hands. There’s even a free printable template to make things as simple as possible too.
We loved our paper plate unicorns so much we couldn’t resist making a team of them in different colours. (We think the collective noun for unicorns might be blessing, but we’re not certain. Do tell us if you’re in the know!) They really do look magical displayed on the wall!
This paper plate unicorn craft is great for displaying on the wall and would be a wonderful way to decorate if you’re planning a themed unicorn party.
We haven’t actually tried it yet but think they’d be easy to turn into unicorn masks too if you cut out some eye holes and attached some elastic. Do let us know how you get on if you decide to give it a try.
Here are some more paper plate crafts you can try while you’re here too. Click on the photos to go to the tutorials and scroll down to see how to make gorgeous paper plate unicorns!

How To Make Paper Plate Unicorns
1 – You can make your paper plate unicorn craft in any colours you like. Simply paint your plates with acrylic paint and leave it to dry. We think pastel colours and even plain white look lovely.
2 – Print your free unicorn template (available at the bottom of this post) and trace the ears onto card. Make the inner and outer ear out of two different colours and glue them together.
3 – Use the template to trace a horn onto glitter card and cut it out.
4 – Glue the ears onto the back of the paper plate and the unicorn horn onto the front in between them.
5 – Use your cool temp glue gun (adult help needed) to attach the craft flowers and marabou feathers.
6 – Use a pencil to sketch on the eyes and then go over them in black marker pen. We just love our Posca pens for jobs like that!
6 – Finish off your paper plate unicorn craft by cutting some darling round rosy cheeks from pink card and glueing them on.
Doesn’t your paper plate unicorn look adorable? Why not back some unicorns in lots of different colours? So sweet!
