– Start by downloading and printing your free printable Valentine Love Bird Craft craft template onto white printer paper. (Get your love bird template at the bottom of this page.)
– Trace the bird template shapes (except the eyes) onto coloured paper of your choice. We used a different colour for each birds body, wing and tail. Repeat this twice to make two birds.
– To start making your love bird picture, glue the heart onto the top middle of a piece of blue paper.
– It’s really easy to make your love birds. Fold the flat edge of the small semi circle wing over to make a tab and glue it onto the big semi circle body. Then glue the tail onto the back of the bird’s body.
– Now, you can attach the bird’s eye and beak.
– Next, glue the two love birds onto the blue picture so that it looks like each one is holding one side of the heart in their beak.
– Finish off your pretty love bird art by drawing on some legs. We also added some little curved movement lines to make it look like their wings are flapping.
– If you want to you can add some extra embellishments. We glued on some tissue paper heart confetti which looks super cute!
We’ve made this love bird craft for Valentine’s Day but of course, it would be super cute at ant time of year. You could even write a love filled message or bird pun along the bottom.
