Do your kids need a fun way to show loved ones some koala-ty love this Valentine’s Day? Then look no further! Our Printable Valentine Koala Craft is more than koala-fied for the task!
This koala valentine craft for kids is super cute! The happy koala is climbing its tree, holding onto to a pretty love heart. Isn’t it adorable?
This would also be great as an Australia Day craft too.
This Koala craft makes a wonderful love themed display for any home or classroom. What’s more, the leaves and the koala’s ears lift off the page to give a gorgeous 3D effect.
The cute Koala can either hold the heart in its paws or you can draw on a string and turn it into a heart shaped balloon! Both are very cute!
Kids can have fun adding other decorations to their koalas too, if they want. Some eco-glitter on the heart would look adorable!
You could also write a special message on them for a unique koala Valentine’s Day card for someone special! How about a funny koala pun?
Valentine Koala Puns:

- You Koala-fy As My Best Friend

We’ve used this as a Valentine craft but it would be super cute koala craft to use all year round too. You could always leave off the heart, or substitute it for something seasonal, like a leaf in autumn, or a flower in summer.

How To Make a Paper Koala
1 – Start by downloading and printing your koala craft template onto white printer paper. (Get your koala bear template from our store.)
The koala craft template comes with 4 versions:
- to colour in
- ready coloured
- to trace around
- to print on coloured paper
2 – If needed, colour in or trace around your template, depending on which of the 4 template options you choose.
3 – Cut out the koala craft pieces.
4 – Next glue the tree branch onto the middle of your blue backing sheet.
5 – Fold the leaves in half lengthways and glue the tip onto the branch, two at the top and two at the bottom.
6 – Glue the body halfway along the blue page, so that it is slightly leaning towards and overlapping the branch.
7 – Make the koala bear’s head by gluing the ears onto the back of the head and then snipping into them to give them texture.
8 – Glue the head and leg onto the koala’s body. (Don’t glue the ears and bend them upwards to make it more 3D.)
9 – Finish by gluing on the heart and the Koala’s hand. It can hold the heart or you can draw a string and make it a heart balloon.
We’ve used this adorable koala craft for Valentine’s day, but it would be cute for any time of year. You can also omit the heart altogether if you prefer.
