It’s easy to spend a fortune on kids toys only to see them piling up unused in the corners of the bedroom! Why not try inspiring creativity and imaginative play with homemade toys made from recycled materials instead? Kids will love to play with something they’ve helped to make and it’s great for building their environmental awareness too. This collection of Awesome Cardboard Homemade Toys is picked from all the entries in last month’s #Recycle themed #CreateMakeShare.

Cardboard Homemade Toys
There are so many things to make with a small cardboard box or cardboard tube! All of these cardboard toys for kids are easy to make and great for inspiring imaginative play.
1 – CARDBOARD TUBE FAIRY HOUSES look so cute! Why not make a whole village for hours of fun small world play?
2 – This TABLE FOOTBALL GAME is easy to make from an old shoebox and you can paint the players in your favourite team colours. What a great idea for family fun.
3 – How adorable is this CARWASH cardboard homemade toy? I still remember the thrill of going into the carwash for the first time when I was a girl! I would have adored one of these to play with after!
4 – This CARDBOARD ROAD TOY is such a clever idea! You could cut up sections to lay roads in all sorts or designs! I like the idea of making one in the layout of our local neighbourhood.
5 – A CARDBOARD DOLL BED is an absolute childhood classic! Kids will love tucking their favourite toy into one of these. What a great way to promote a caring nature.
6 – This DRAGON HOBBY HORSE is a favourite cardboard homemade toy from our archives. It is so easy to make from an old cereal box and gave my kids hours of exciting imaginative play. Who wouldn’t want to fly around on their own dragon?
7 – his gorgeous set of JUNGLE ANIMALS is another super easy cardboard craft for kids to enjoy, this time made from cardboard tubes.
8 – A SECRET COMPARTMENT TREASURE BOX is so exciting for kids. They’ll love hiding all their knick-knacks and treasures under the false bottom. It’s the perfect cardboard box craft for pirates and super sleuths!
I’m sure you’ll agree these are super and easy cardboard homemade toys for kids to make and play with, perfect for keeping little fingers busy over the Summer! Don’t forget to pop along to my co-hosts Zing Zing Tree and Growing Spaces to see who they’ve featured from last month too.
