How To Make Colourful Butterfly Masks
– Start to make your butterfly masks by choosing a range of brightly coloured card and printing out your free template. (Available at the bottom of this tutorial.)
– Cut out your butterfly template and trace around it onto coloured card stock. Trace and cut out the eye holes.
– Cut out the symmetrical butterfly patterns and trace them on to coloured card. It’s fun to mix and match the colours. Lay them out onto your butterfly to make sure you like your colour choices and then glue them into place.
– You can make your butterfly masks even more special by glueing on some glitter too if you like.
– Use your Sharpie pen to add some detail to the butterfly’s body.
– Glue the butterfly body into place.
– Cut some thin slivers of card to make the butterfly antennae.
– Glue the antennae onto the back of the butterfly’s head.
– These butterfly masks can be either hand held or elasticated. If you want a hand held mask then glue on a popsicle stick handle. If you want a butterfly mask to wear hands free then punch a small hole on either side and attach some ribbon or elastic.
Colourful Butterfly Masks are so pretty and fun to make. We hope you enjoy yours.
