This colourful Christmas Tree Craft for kids is really easy to make and you’ve probably got all the craft supplies you need already.
I love that you can make paper Christmas trees in any size and any colour you like too.

We’ve used lots of bright colours to make our paper trees but if you want a more traditional look, you could make your Christmas trees with a range of green papers instead.

Paper Curl Christmas Tree Craft Tutorial
1 – To make the snow for your Christmas tree to stand in, simply cut a strip of white paper with a wavy edge, the same width as your blue backing paper. Then glue it to the bottom of the blue sheet.
2 – Next, cut a small brown paper rectangle to make the tree trunk and glue it onto the snow.
3 – Stack your coloured sheets of paper together and cut off a strip about 1-2 cms thick. Then cut that to give you short sections about 5 cms long.
4 – Stack a few rectangle paper strips together and wrap them around a paint brush handle or something similar to make them nice and curly.
5 – Glue a row of 7 curled paper strips along your picture to make the bottom of the Christmas tree. To give your tree a nice triangle shape, point the last strip on either end inwards slightly.
(Top Tip: We found it easiest to glue the first strip onto the middle of the trunk, and then glue three on either side.)
6 – If you had 7 curled paper strips in your bottom row, the next row up will want 6 paper strips.
7 – Continue gluing rows of curled paper strips all the way to the top of the Christmas tree.
Remember to reduce the number by one each time to make the tree taper. We stopped adding when we had two strips at the top layer.
8 – To make the star at the top of the tree you can either draw a star shape onto your gold glitter card or you might find it easier to cut two triangles and stick them together to make the star.
9 – Finish off your curled paper Christmas tree by dabbing on spots of white paint to make falling snow. You can use a paint brush or a cotton bud or even your little finger!
I’m sure you’ll agree, these paper Christmas trees will add a gorgeous splash of colour to your Christmas celebrations.
