I am not a fan of real spiders I’m afraid. They totally freak me out! I know it’s illogical and I’d never harm one, but I do avoid them whenever I can…normally by running away in the opposite direction as fast as I can! This HAIRY SPIDER CRAFT though, is a different matter entirely. I think they are SUPER CUTE! If only real spiders where as cuddlesome and adorable!
This Hairy Spider craft has a wonderful faux fur top which makes them hairy, tactile and super cute!
If you are looking for a fun rather than scary Halloween spider craft then these hairy spiders are just the ticket. You can craft them in any colour you like and they’d make a great addition to your spooky decorations.
This easy paper bowl spider craft would be super fun for little spider fans to enjoy all year round and they could also be used to bring nursery rhymes like Incy Wincy Spider to life and to go with your favourite spider story books too.
We’ve got lots of other spider crafts on Kids Craft Room that you might enjoy too. We’ve also put our favourite from this site and our crafting friends across the web into a fun spider collection that you can see here too.
Paper Bowl Furry Spider Craft
Hairy Spider Craft Supplies:
- Paper Bowls
- Black Paint
- Striped Pipe Cleaners
- Wiggle Eyes
- White Posca Paint Pen
- Long Faux Fur
- Scissors
- Glue
- Sticky Tape
- Paintbrush
How To Make Hairy Spiders
1 – Paint your paper bowl black on the underside and leave to dry.
2 – When your paper bowl is dry, glue on some wiggle eyes and draw on a smile and some fangs with your white Posca paint pen.
3 – Cut 4 long stripy pipe cleaners in half. Fold each piece into a V shape and then fold the ends outwards to make little feet.
4 – Sticky tape the pipe cleaners to the underside rim of the paper bowl, four on each side.
5 – Draw a shape onto the back of the faux fur and cut it out. You want it to be about the size of the paper bowl base. We drew around the inside of a sticky tape roll.
6 – Glue the faux fur onto the base of the paper plate to make a furry hairstyle for your spider!
We’ve had lots of fun making and playing with our hairy spider craft. We hope that you enjoy it just as much too!
