Do you love handprint crafts as much as I do? I think they make such adorable keepsakes that I can never resist them! I hope that you’ll be as delighted with this HANDPRINT BABY JESUS ORNAMENT craft as I am!
They are super cute and super easy to make with the FREE PRINTABLE BABY JESUS CRAFT TEMPLATE.
In this fun religious Christmas craft your handprint becomes the manger and it’s filled with paper strip straw so that Baby Jesus has a cosy bed to lie in!
This is such a cute Baby Jesus craft for preschoolers and they can either hang them on the Christmas tree as ornaments or glue them onto cardstock to make a Baby Jesus Christmas card. Or, you could do both like us because they’re too darn cute not to!
We used a dark blue cardstock for the handprints of our Baby Jesus Christmas craft but you could, of course, use any colour you like.
The little baby Jesus template comes in three different sizes so that you can match it to the size of your hand and these can be coloured in with any colour skin tone you prefer.

How To Make A Baby Jesus Christmas Ornament
1 – Download and print your free printable Baby Jesus craft template. Get yours at the bottom of the post.
2 – There are three different sized babies and straw strips to choose from. So choose the baby that will fit in your palm and colour it in.
3 – Draw around your hand onto coloured cardstock (we used blue) and cut it out. Cut out your straw strips and glue the middle of each one onto the middle of the handprint to make a soft bed for Baby Jesus. (Just glue the middle of the straw strips so that the ends can be lifted up a little to make a 3D effect.)
4 – Cut out your decorated Baby Jesus and glue him onto the straw filled manger.
5 – Cut a length of glitter pipe cleaner and bend it to make a loop. Sticky tape the loop onto the back of the handprint manger. (If you don’t have pipe cleaners you could just use some string or yarn.)
6 – Hang your handprint Baby Jesus on the Christmas tree for everyone to enjoy.
