Have you got a little llama or alpaca fan? We all love them in this house! To celebrate all things llama we’ve been enjoying this really easy and gorgeously colourful PAPER CUP LLAMA CRAFT! Aren’t they fun?
We’re really lucky and get to see some alpacas nearly every day as there’s a little alpaca farm about half a mile from our home! We often go past when we’re walking the dog. They really are the must characterful creatures!
We don’t have any cacti growing wild in our local Lincolnshire countryside though. It’s far too cold and dreary for that! Nevertheless, we crafted some cute cacti out of paper, to go with our llamas, so they’d feel more at home!
This easy and cute paper cup llama craft is perfect for summer and is a great way to use up any extra paper cups lying around your house. We used some ready coloured cups, but you could easily paint white cups, if that’s all you have.

Easy Step-by-Step Paper Cup Llama Craft for Kids
1 To make the llamas banana shaped ears, cut out two small rectangles from white card. Then trim one end to an arch shape and bend them over. Colour in the inner ear with a colourful marker pen. We love Sharpies.
2 – Fold the flat end of the ears over and glue the tabs onto the bottom of the paper cup.
3 – Use your marker pen to draw a face for your llama on the side of the paper cup. Our cups were slightly shiny but the Sharpie pens had no problem with it.
4 – Next decorate the neck of the llama by wrapping around some yarn. We used our rainbow yarn, but you could use single colours if you prefer.
5 – Finally glue some mini pom-poms onto the yarn.
6 – Repeat this process to make an alpaca family. We loved our paper cup alpaca so much, we ended up crafting a whole herd, in lots of different colours!
7 – If you’d like to make some paper cacti too, simply cut out a simple cactus shape, draw on lots of little spines and fold over the base to make it stand up.
