I still remember hearing a real donkey bray for the first time when I was about eight years old. I couldn’t believe the racket it was making! Nothing like the gentle eey-ore sound I’d been taught in the Old Mac Donald Had A Farm song! Well, I’ve been smitten with donkey’s ever since. They just seem so cheeky and cute!
This Paper Plate Donkey Craft is really easy to make with just a plain paper plate and some construction paper! It’s a lovely farmyard craft for toddlers, preschoolers or school aged children.
So round up some paper plates and get ready for an afternoon full of creativity, and cuteness making your own paper plate donkeys!
How To Make A Donkey From A Paper Plate
Craft Supplies:
Donkey Craft Step By Step
1 – Start by painting your paper plate grey or brown.
2 – Next cut out the rest of the donkey’s features from coloured paper or cardstock. (you can paint them if you prefer). They are easy enough to sketch by hand but you can use our donkey template if you prefer. It’s only a really rough hand sketch I’m afraid but it might be useful.
3 – Glue the donkey’s pink inner ears onto the grey outer ears.
4 – Next glue the nose, eyes and mane onto the front of the paper plate.
5 – Finally, glue on the donkey’s long ears and draw on a smile.
Now your paper plate donkey is ready to eat grass and bray loudly! Eeyore, eeyore!
