We love fox crafts, they are so fun for autumn and nocturnal or forest study themes. Today we’re sharing our brand new and super fun Printable Fox Puppet Craft! It’s so cute with its wibbly wobbly legs and bushy tail!
These fox puppets are a simple design with a craft stick handle at the back that you hold to move them along. Kids will love making their own fox puppet show or bringing their favourite fox storybooks to life!
There’s a printable fox puppet template that comes in both full colour and also black and white so children can enjoy colouring it themselves.
Each puppet template has a ready made face and also a design your own face so there’s lots of scope for variation. If you use the design your own face you can either cut and stick the paper facial features, draw your own or add wiggle eyes and pom pom noses etc.
This is a great fox craft to make with your toddlers and preschoolers because these fox puppets are really easy to make and really easy to use!
Why not team these fox puppets up with our printable fox hats and fox bracelets? If your looking for some more woodland animals to play with take a peek at this gorgeous paper play set from The Craft Train.

How To Make A Fox Puppet Out Of Paper
1 – Print the fox puppet template onto printer card. (Use thicker your card for a more robust puppet.)
2 – Carefully colour and cut out all the fox template pieces.
3 – If you are using the cut and stick face then glue the eyes, nose, cheeks and inner ears into place. (You can also draw the features or use wiggle eyes and a pom pom nose if you prefer.)
4 – Fold the body piece along the dotted lines. Bend it over to make an arch and glue the folded tab to secure it in place.
5 – Glue the fox head onto the front of the body. (Just add glue to the back of the nose so the head sits high.)
6 – Glue the tail onto the back of the body.
7 – Concertina zig-zag fold the legs.
8 – Glue the legs under the body, one on each corner. (Make sure the paws are facing forwards.)
9 – To make a handle, sticky tape or glue the end of your jumbo craft stick onto the bottom of your fox puppet. (If you don’t have a craft stick you could use a jumbo drinking straw or tightly rolled piece of cardstock instead.)
10 – To make your fox walk hold the handle and move your arm forward while gently twisting your wrist from side to side.
