- Squirrel Hat Template
- Cardstock
- Black Marker Pen
- Glue

How To Make Squirrel Hats
1 – Download the printable squirrel hat craft template and print it out. (Black and white to colour in or trace around, or 2 full colour versions.)
2 – Trace around the template pieces onto coloured paper or cardstock and cut them out.
We used light brown for the main pieces of the squirrel hat craft, red brown for the facial features and paws and light and dark green for the acorn. (Skip this step if you have coloured in your template or used the ready coloured template.)
3 – Glue the teeth onto the squirrel’s head. Then glue on the face piece and inner ears.
4 – Glue on your paper eyes and nose or add a small black pom pom and wiggle eyes if you prefer.
5 – Glue the acorn cap onto the top of the acorn and decorate in a criss cross pattern with black marker pen.
6 – Glue the head onto the body piece of the squirrel hat. Then add the acorn and the four round paws. You can add toes to the paws with a marker pen.
7 – Staple the back panel of the squirrel headband onto the front panel.
8 – Loop the back panel round and staple it onto the other side of the front panel to make a complete circle.
9 – Staple the tail into place towards the back of the squirrel hat.
Now your squirrel hats are ready to be worn and enjoyed. What a fun Fall activity for kids!
