How to Make a Slugs and Kisses Valentine Card
– Print the template pieces straight onto coloured paper or card (You can use the colour-in version instead if you prefer.)
– Cut out all the pieces.
– Glue the eyes onto their stalks and then glue them to the back of the slug’s head.
– Glue the slug’s body (not eyes) onto a backing sheet of paper or card. Fold the slug’s eye stalks forward a little to lift them off the page.
– Glue the ends of the two spring pieces together at right angles.
– To make the spring, fold the underneath length neatly over the upper length. 6 – Keep repeating, taking the underneath length over the top of the upper length each time.
– When you get to the end of the strips, glue the loose ends together to stop the spring undoing.
– Glue one end of the spring onto your backing sheet wherever you want the heart balloon to be.
– Draw a string around the slug’s body and all the way to the spring.
– Choose your message heart (or write your own on the blank heart) and glue it onto the spring.
