How To Make Printable Paper Houses- Step-by-Step Tutorial
This paper house craft project is such a fun winter craft for kids. From snowy roofs to snowmen in the yard, kids can have a great time coloring and making their own unique winter house or even an entire winter village.
So grab some coloring materials and scissors and let’s get crafting! This adorable Winter paper house craft will make cozy nights inside with the family so much fun.

- White Paper or Cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue
- Coloring Materials: Pens, Pencils etc.
Coloring Extravaganza: Personalize Your Paper Winter Houses with Style!
Step 1 – The first thing to do is to download the free printables and print them out. For best results use card stock but ordinary printer paper works too but isn’t as robust.)
Step 2 – Enjoy coloring your printable paper house in any way you choose. (Treat it as a coloring page, it’s much easier to color before you cut!)
This is a great way for kids to express their creativity. They can color the pre-designed houses or create their own from the blank template.
Enjoy adding your own detail and going as wild with color and additional decorations as you like. I always think a sprinkle of bio-glitter gives the paper houses a gorgeous wintery frosty feel, perfect for a cold winter day.
Kids can also use the blank version as a gingerbread house template and decorate it with loads of sweet candy canes, cookies and candies. Gingerbread houses would be perfect as Christmas paper houses.

Cut, Fold, Create: Simple Steps to 3D Winter Paper House Magic!
Step 3 – It’s really easy to make a 3D paper house and it’s great for fine motor skills too! Start by carefully cutting all around the outside of the provided template.
Step 4 – Next fold along all the fold lines and dotted lines around the walls and roof and tabs. We fold ours against a ruler to make it easier to keep the lines straight. (If you want to a grown-up could score the lines with a craft knife.)
Step 5 – Finally apply glue to the tabs and join the house pieces together. Start with the walls and then the roof.
Ta-Dah! Your winter house is ready to go on display. But don’t stop there, why not craft some more to make a gorgeous paper winter village? You could even pop some tea lights inside to make paper house luminaries for a Christmas village!
