How To Use Our Free Printable Christmas Countdown Calendar
There are two fun advent calendar free printables to choose from. One featuring 25 jolly Christmas coloring images and one blank design your own version.
Step 1 – Print your advent calendar. Regular printer paper is fine or you can use printer cardstock of you want something more robust.
Step 2 – Simply have fun coloring in a Christmas picture every day. It’s such a fun and easy way to count down the days until Christmas Eve. If you’re using the design your own option, scroll down to the next section for lots of decorating ideas.
Step 3 – The Christmas fun doesn’t stop there! Put them up on display for everyone to enjoy. They’re such a great way to add to the holiday decor. We think the fireplace mantel is the perfect spot!
How to decorate a design your own Countdown calendar?
You can either color in our printable advent calendar that’s filled with a cute Christmas-themed picture for each day (see above) or have fun designing your own adorable countdown (see below).
If you use our blank calendar design the entire family can design different advent calendars! You can draw or write something of your own choice in each of the countdown numbers boxes. Kids can have so much fun decorating the daily boxes in lots of different ways.
How about drawing some of your favourite things or fun stuff you like to do in the holidays, like watching a holiday movie, wrapping gifts, or enjoying a special holiday treat such as candy canes.
You could get into the true spirit of Christmas and write a random act of kindness to complete each day of Advent!
A simple way for young children to enjoy counting down the number of days of Advent is to simply color inside each day’s picture frame with different colored wax crayons, marker pens, a chalk marker etc.
If you want to give your countdown calendar a 3D effect, kids can use a glue stick to attach colourful fun things every day. You could glue on pom poms or a cotton ball or any other loose parts you’ve got in your craft supplies.
