How to Make An Elephant Stick Puppet Using Cupcake Liners
1 – To make the elephant’s head, draw around a cup or tumbler onto coloured cardstock and cut out a circle.
2 – To make the elephant trunk, cut a narrow rectangle from coloured cardstock and then draw on some little curves.
3 – Now, glue the trunk to the elephant’s head. If you want the trunk to curl, you can wrap it around your finger to bend it.
4 – Next, give your elephant puppet some wiggle eyes and a happy smile.
5 – The elephant’s ears are made by cutting a colourful cupcake liner in half and gluing them to either side of the head. We adore these rainbow stripe cupcake liners.
6 – Now all your elephant puppet needs is a handle! We made ours by taping a jumbo popsicle stick to the back.
Why not make a whole herd of cupcake liner elephant puppets? You could make them in all sorts of colours and use different coloured and patterned cupcake liners for the ears.
Now your kids can have fun using their imaginations and taking their elephants on adventures!
