These baby chick cards are super quick and easy to make with the free printable pattern. Because it’s such a simple and easy Easter craft it’s great for toddlers and preschoolers.
You can use the free printable template to make a Hatching Chick Easter Card like we have or half the template to make a stand alone hatching chick craft if you don’t want to send them to anyone.
If you do choose to write inside your Easter chick cards it’s fun to think of egg-cellent and egg-citing egg puns to go in the middle!
Hatching Chick Easter Card Craft Tutorial
Hatching Chick Craft Supplies:
- Free Printable Template (Get yours at the bottom of this post.)
- Printer Card Yellow and White
- Optional: Yellow Craft Feathers
How To Make Hatching Chick Easter Cards
1 – Print the free two page template onto cardstock. Print the egg shell page onto white card and the oval card template page onto yellow.
2 – Cut out all the pieces of your hatching chick Easter card craft template. You will have two pieces of eggshell, two eyes, one beak and one yellow double egg shape.
3 – Fold the yellow card in half to make an egg shape body for your Easter chick that opens and shuts.
4 – Glue the large piece of egg shell to the bottom of the chick’s body. You’ll notice it has a slightly flat base so that it can stand up on display as a card when you have finished.
5 – Glue on the eyes and the folded beak.
6 – Glue the small egg shell onto the chick’s head like a hat.
7 – If you want to you can stick on some yellow craft feather wings too.
8 – Open up your finished hatching chick Easter card craft and write a message inside.
Egg-celllent! Now you are ready to share your homemade chick cards with friends and family. Aren’t they the sweetest!
