How to Make A Cute Love Bug From A Paper Plate

Adorable Love Bug Craft – Step-By-Step Tutorial
1 – So, let’s start our fun Valentine’s Day craft! Begin by making your love bug’s head. Cut out a large circle from a piece of paper or cardstock.
2 – Also cut two small white circles for eyes. (You can use google eyes if you prefer.)
2 – Now, glue on your eyes and draw some pupils and a smile to make your love bug’s face.
3 – Then cut and stick two small hearts and two short lengths of chenille stem pipe cleaner. Glue a paper heart on to one end of each pipe cleaner and attach the other end to the love bug’s head to make cute antennae. You can add some round paper or pom pom rosy cheeks too if you like.
4 – To make your love bug’s body start by cutting a paper plate in half. (You can use a ready colored one or paint your own. We have a stash of paper plates in all sorts of colors so we just used those.)
5 – Next make the love bug’s little legs by cutting 6 lengths of pipe cleaner. Bend over one end in a spiral to make an “L” shape.
6 – Then, glue or tape the insect’s legs onto the back of the paper plate along the flat edge.
7 – Next, glue the head on to the love bug’s body.
8 – Now all that’s left to do is decorate the paper plate body. A great way to do this is to cut a heart shape from colored paper and fold it in half top to bottom. (We love these heart punches, it makes it so easy to cut different sized hearts.)
9 – Finally, apply glue to the fold of the hearts and stick them onto the body to give a 3D effect. Repeat with hearts of different sizes and colors. (You could even decorate them with glitter glue too if you fancy.) What a lovable paper plate ladybug!

Easy Love Bug Craft
Make adorable love bugs to celebrate Valentine's Day!
Materials
- Paper Plates
- Colored Card Stock
- Pom Poms (optional)
- Pipe Cleaners
- Googly Eyes (optional)
- Scissors
- Glue

- Heart Punches
Instructions
- Cut a pink paper plate in half for the love bug's body.
- Cut 6 lengths of pipe cleaners and roll the ends to make legs and feet. Sticky tape them onto the back of the flat edge of the paper plate.
- Cut a large pink circle for the head and glue on two small white circle eyes. Draw the pupils and a smile.
- Cut two short lengths of pipecleaner and glue a paper heart shape to one end. Tape the other end to the back of the love bug's head to make antennae. Glue the head to the body.
Use the heart stamps to cut paper hearts. Fold them in half and glue the fold onto the body.
