Puppet Making Supplies:
- Free Printable Template: Addams Family Halloween Puppets (Get yours at the bottom of this post.)
- White Cardstock or Paper
- Colouring Pens, Pencils etc
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
How To Make Addams Family Inspired Finger Puppets
1 – Download and print the free printable Halloween Puppet templates. (Get yours at the end of this tutorial.) You can use cardstock for added sturdiness, but regular paper works too!
2 – There are 8 different designs to choose from, so have fun colouring in all your favourite Addams Family characters. Choose, one, two or all of them. It’s up to you!
3 – Now cut out each of the hand puppet templates and the two paper rectangle strips that come with each free Halloween puppet.
4 – Fold along the three marked lines of the mouth, bringing the Halloween characters’ upper and lower lip together to hide the mouth inside.
5 – If there are any extra pieces included in the template, like plaits for Wednesday, or Thing (the disembodied hand) on a tray for Lurch, glue them onto the puppets.
6 – The next step is to fold along the dotted lines of the rectangular strips and glue them onto the back of the puppet, one on the top of the mouth and one underneath.
7 – Now comes the fun part! Pop your thumb into the bottom loop and a finger into the top loop to make the puppet’s mouth open and shut.
With these free printable Halloween puppets, kids can have hours of fun creating stories and celebrating their favourite characters from The Addams Family with your own puppet show!
