This Shape Owl Craft is so cute! It’s a great math activity to teach children about shapes and to consolidate their learning. Each owl is made up of 11 different shapes so it really is a great activity to get creative and learn all about 2D shapes!
Shape owls are super easy to make with the printable template. The owl template comes in full color and also black and white which children can enjoy coloring in and decorating themselves. This owl shape activity would be lovely as an autumn craft but it would also be fun to use all year round too.
Children will love to cut and paste their own shape owl and their finished work will make a wonderful wall display for the home or classroom.
When the children have finished their owl art they can count the number of each different shape and record their findings on the worksheet.

- Printer Paper
- Coloring Pens / Pencil etc
How To Make An Owl From Shapes
1 – Print out the shape craft template. (Get yours from our shop here.)
2 – If you are using the black and white template, color it in.
3- Cut out the shape pieces.
4 – Follow the step by step picture instruction sheet to glue your shapes onto paper to create your owl.
5 – Follow the numbered instructions to see your owl start to emerge!
6 – Write your name in the octagonal moon label.
7 – When you’ve finished making your shape owl craft you can count the number of each shape and record them on the worksheet.
