These St Patrick’s Day whirligigs are super easy to make from a single paper plate and are decorated with lots of paper shamrock leaves. You can hang them from the ceiling and give them a blow or gentle push them to make them spin round and round. They really are very colourful and pretty and it is so fun to watch them twirl!

Paper Plate twirlers Craft Supplies:
- Paper Plates
- Rainbow Paint Colours
- Green Cardstock
- Green Yarn
- Heart Paper Punch 1.5 inch
- Scissors
- Glue
- Sticky Tape
How To Make St Patrick’s Day Whirligigs
1 – Paint a paper plate in rainbow stripes on the back and front.
2 – Start from the outside of the plate and cut a spiral all the way to the middle. (The thinner the bands the longer your spiral will be.)
3 – To make the shamrock decorations cut green cardstock hearts using a 1.5 inch heart cutter. (You need three hearts for each shamrock leaf.)
4 – Glue the points of three hearts together to make a little shamrock.
5 – Glue the shamrock leaves onto the rainbow twirler.
6 – Sticky tape a length of green yarn to the middle of the paper plate twirler.
