How to Make Leprechauns From Popsicle Sticks
– Start by gluing 4 popsicle sticks together. Secure them with two half popsicle sticks glued across the back horizontally. Paint them orange.
– Cut a piece of orange paper a few centimetres bigger than the popsicle stick head. Fold it in half and lay it under the head, lining the fold with the midline of the sticks. Sketch out the shape you want the leprechaun’s beard to be.
– Cut the beard out and then cut out the centre section too. You can also snip some texture around the edge if you want to.
– Open the beard up and glue it onto the Leprechaun’s popsicle stick head.
– Now you can make the leprechaun’s hat. Cut a simple hat shape from green paper or cardstock.
– Next, cut a black paper rectangle the same width as the hat. Cut a square yellow paper buckle and snip out the middle.
– Glue the hat band and buckle onto the hat.
– Finally glue the hat onto the leprechaun’s head, glue on two white circles for eyes and draw on the pupils and a cheeky smile.
Now you Leprechaun is dressed up and ready to enjoy St Patrick’s Day. Why not paint him a fun handprint rainbow to enjoy too?
