– Position the squirrel’s tail behind the body and secure it with a paper fastener.
– Make a hole at the top of the squirrel’s body and at the bottom of the head. Secure the head onto the front of the body with a paper fastener.
– On the head glue the squirrel’s teeth just below the split pin. Glue the outer nose piece above the teeth, slightly overlapping and finish off with a small black pom pom or the black paper nose.
– Glue on some eyes and the inner ears.
– To make the acorn card fold the large oval in half.
– Glue the acorn cap along the fold to make an acorn that opens and shuts.
– Glue the acorn onto the front of the squirrel’s body and then glue on the two round paws. If you want to you can use black marker pen to add detail to the paws, tail and acorn cap.
– Open up the acorn card and write your surprise message inside. How about “Happy Autumn”, I’m Nuts About You”, “Let’s Go Nuts!”
