How To Make A Paper Bag Butterfly Puppet Craft
We used these fantastic mini paper bags avialable in the UK the closest we can find in the US are these (you’ll need to cut the handles off) or you could use standard sized bags too.
Supplies To Make A Butterfly Hand Puppet:
- Small Paper Bags
- Brightly Coloured Paper
- Round Stickers
- Pipe Cleaners
- Wiggle Eyes
- Marker Pen
- Glue
- Scissors
- Sticky Tape
Tutorial To Make An Easy Paper Bag Butterfly Craft
1 – Fold two pieces of coloured paper in half to make it x4 thickness. Draw around your hand and cut them out.
2 – Turn the paper bag upside down and glue the two pairs of hands either side to make the butterfly wings.
3 – To make the butterfly antennae fold a pipe cleaner in half to make a V and curl the ends over.
4 – Sticky tape the antennae onto the back of the butterfly’s head and add a face with googly eyes and a smile.
5 – Decorate your butterfly puppet’s wings. We used round stickers and tried to make each side match. You can use stickers, pens, sequins etc…anything goes.
Your bright and colourful paper bag butterflies are ready to take their first flight. What fun!
