We love making fox crafts in the autumn. Of course they can be enjoyed all year round but their colour just shouts autumn leaves doesn’t it! Today we’re sharing our latest PAPER FAN FOX CRAFT. It’s adorably cute with it’s concertina folded face and big bushy tail!
This cute fox is fun to make for Autumn, for nocturnal and woodland study themes and to go with your favourite foxy stories like Fantastic Mr Fox and Fox in Socks too.
The paper foxes are easy to make with the printable template. The template comes in full colour and also black and white which children can decorate themselves. You could even stick on some cotton wool balls and turn the black and white template into an arctic fox craft too. A fox for all seasons!
We’ve mounted our foxes onto blue cardstock but you can of course use any colour you like. It would be fun to mount a fox onto a black ground and draw on some stars and a moon too for a cute night time fox scene.
We’ve got lots of other fox crafts here on Kids Craft Room that you might like too. You can browse our animal crafts section to find lots of owls, badgers and hedgehog crafts if you’re following a woodland animal theme too.
If you are a fox fan you might like to visit The Fox Project, they’re a UK charity dedicated to the care of red foxes. They have a webpage with lots of interesting foxy facts for kids too.

2 – Cut out the fox template pieces.
3 – Glue the tummy onto the body and the tail tip onto the tail.
4 – Glue the tail onto the back of the body so that it pokes out at the side. Then glue the body onto a mounting sheet of paper/card.
5 – Glue the white snout onto the orange rectangular face.
6 – Concertina fold the face widthways along the whole length
7 – Pinch the white end together to make a fan and staple it in place.
8 – Glue the ears onto the back of the fan face and the eyes and nose onto the front.
9 – Glue the fox’s head onto the top of the body.
